At Kazan international airport Kazan was opened a charter flight to Urumqi, China
At 4 August 2016 a new partner of Kazan airport, the Chinese airline Tianjin Airlines started operating a charter flight Urumqi-Kazan-Urumqi. This flight program designed specifically to service the rapidly developing tourist flow from China.
After parking aircraft on the parking lot, the red ribbon cutting ceremony took place, which was attended by representatives of the Republic administration Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Vasil Shaykhraziev, Head of the Tourism State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan Sergey Ivanov, Deputy Minister of Transport and Roads Republic of Tatarstan Andrey Egorov and other officials.
In a following press conference, it was emphasized that the load on this flight was almost full: 171 passengers with a passenger capacity of 174 passengers aboard.
Also Sergey Ivanov noted: "We hope that this program will work stably until the end of October of this year and in next year we are hoping it will be resumed in April – and operate till end of October 2017"
Organized groups of Chinese tourists will now arrive twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays on comfortable aircraft Airbus A320 with a capacity of 174 seats. The flight from Urumqi departs at 08:45; arrival in Kazan is 08:25. The return flight departs from Kazan at 09:45 and arrives at Urumqi international airport at 18:55. Time is local for each airport.
