Kazan international airport congratulated its first third-million passenger and set a record according to passenger flow
On December 11, 2018 passenger flow at Kazan international airport achieved a high rate of 3 million passengers for the first time in modern history of the airport (arrival and departure). It opens a new epoch for the air harbor – the way to the rate of 4 million passengers.
An anniversary passenger became Turpan Yasin, the citizen of Turkey, departing from Kazan to Istanbul with Turkish Airlines.
During check-in representatives of the airport came up to the passenger, who did not expect anything, and asked him to cut a ribbon, symbolizing the achievement of a record in modern history of the airport.
Veronika Aktasheva, Strategic Development Director of Kazan international airport, congratulated the passenger «№ 3 000 000» and gave him a memorable present.
At the same time, Fyrat Kirish, Country Director of Turkish Airlines in Kazan, also made a present to the lucky traveller – a certificate for a free business class ticket to any destination of the world, where the airline flies from Kazan airport.
Turpan Yasin thanked Turkish Airlines and Kazan international airport and wished the airport more flights and year over year increase of rates.
According to the results within 12 months in 2017 (arrival and departure), passenger flow was 2 623 423 passengers in comparison with 2018, when within 11 months and 10 days the airport has already served more than 3 000 000 passengers (arrival and departure) – the increase is almost 21%.
It is worth mentioning, that a significant increase of business performance is fixed on most of departures during the whole year. Recently opened destinations have a great demand. In 2018 the airport opened the flights to the new international destinations: Alanya, Batumi, Bologna, Minsk, Pardubice, Tbilisi and Uvda (Israel). Previously performed till 2016 flight to Sharjah has been reopened.
