Correct landing approach: Kazan airport confirmed a category II meteorological minimal ICAO
November 24, 2017, Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation Order № 495 were used changes in Federal aviation rights “Requirements, applied to aerodrome, intended to taking off, landing, taxying and civil aircrafts parking. According to this Order a number of Russian airports were suspended the access to flights under category II meteorological minimal ICAO.As a result of the work conducted in the further the installation of additional equipment, in accordance with requirements Order at Kazan international airport. January 29, 2021 was issued a certificate according to Federal agencies air transport, whereby aerodrome is according to category II ICAO.
It is means that gateway is ready to take aircrafts in serious metrological conditions in case of low visibility. However, performing flights in such conditions from pilot require special training and the aircraft technical possibilities.
Aerodromes category II meteorological minimal ICAO must have the lighting of centerline, landing zone and other supporting aids. The equipment involved in providing flights, must have an electrical power and its backup, which do not allow power outages.
That way, obtaining a certificate confirms that Kazan international airport provides with radio and lighting facilities according to all this requirements.
