Results of Kazan international airport operation in 2015
In 2015 Kazan international airport served 1 794 735 passengers, handled 2 538 tons of cargo and performed 13 292 aircraft movements. Route map included 56 destinations, 31 of them were international.
1 103 932 passengers were served on the domestic federal destinations in 2015, that is 10,5% bigger than last year. At the same time passenger flow on international flights decreased on 26,8% mostly because of restricting flights to Egypt.
Main drivers of growth on domestic destinations are Moscow (+10.1%), Saint Petersburg (+14.5%), Samara (+60%), Kirov (+157%), Nizhniy Novgorod (+304%), Sochi (+11.8%), Simpferopol (+251.7%) and Anapa (+383.1%).
Outrageous growth have shown several foreign resorts such as Greek Thessaloniki (+28%) and Turkish Dalaman (+48.8%). It’s worth noting that the passenger flow on regular flights to Helsinki by Finnair is three times bigger than in 2014 year.
Meanwhile, demand for the Istanbul flights remains at the same level as last year. Most popular foreign destinations traditionally are Sharm-el-Sheikh, Antalya, Larnaka, Baku, Bishkek and Almata.
In 2015 Kazan international airport welcomed such new airlines as UVT aero, Angara, Dexter, Pobeda, Azur Air and Royal flight.
